Deceased and another man were drawing out some props on a road through the pack, which had been left open for a temporary air road and for stowage. They had used a "gablock and chain" to loosen a prop, but instead of pulling it out with the chain, the deceased loosened the latter and was proceeding to lift the prop out, when a fall of roof came away and killed him.
