- 40 colliers &c. riding down a steep enginebrow in a train of 19 special trams a wood bar dropped from roof obstructing 400 yards down. The bumping of the trams caused injury to one man affection of spine after walking about for some weeks, was suddenly attacked with tetanus (lock jaw) from which he died on 13th. December. A train had safely descended a few minutes previous.
