6 March 1936: Miner's Fatal Seizure - James Gray (62), who resided at 6 Riverside Terrace, Kirkconnel, had a seizure at Fauldhead Colliery yesterday morning, and died at his home later in the day. Deceased, a well-known figure in Kirkconnel, was one of the founders of the Trade Union movement in the district He was a former member of the old Kirkconnel Parish Council and of the Kirkconnel School Management Committee.
