Deceased and his butty were walking out along the level to go home and when about 900 yards from the mouth the journey started to follow them. Deceased’s butty got into a manhole, but deceased would not and continued to walk out. After the journey had passed out his dead body was found lying in the gutter, he having been knocked down.
