Fall of roof. Collapse of working place in thick coal. Cause, place too wide. This accident was caused by the sudden collapse of a stall in the thick coal where it had been worked three times previously. The place appeared to have been well timbered but the ground was much broken and disturbed by the previous workings and there was goaf all round it. It took four days' continuous work to recover the body.
