- 16 July 1936: Miner Killed At Auchinleck - John Graham, who resided at Trabboch, Tarbolton, was killed at the Barony Colliery, Auchinleck, on Thursday night. He was engaged in repair work in No.1 Pit when a large stone weighing several tons fell from the roof, killing him instantaneously. It was several hours before the body could be extricated.
