Deceased was firing two shots charged with compressed powder. Taped fuse was used, the length of the fuses being 2.5 and 4.5 feet respectively. Deceased appeared to have lighted both shots at a time, in direct contravention of the Special Rules and a notice posted in the mine, and to have returned prematurely, thinking that he had failed be light the long fuse.
