Died from injuries received on November 13th, 1903. A shot had been fired in the ripping of a gateway which had dislodged a large quantity of rock. He was removing the stone when a piece fell and broke his back. He had ventured under the shot-shaken roof without setting timber or getting down the dangerous rock.
