Deceased had gone into a disused road, about 4 yards back from the face, to get his jacket which was hanging on a post, when a portion of the top coal fell from between two slips. There were four posts and 1lids set in the road end and the men working at the face and near sat there while having their dinner. The roof was regularly examined, but the slips had not been seen.
