Details of Event
Deceased was astride the rail underneath a wagon under the screens, and was levering the wagon back with a pinch bar. A shunter on the rise side of the screens missed the coupling, and these wagons (although braked and scotched) collided with the one under which deceased was working. He sustained a severely crushed foot and fractured pelvis and died on the way to the infirmary. A stop block has now been fixed.
