- Shaft Accidents - At Glebe Colliery, Lanarkshire, on November 28, a fireman was climbing across a shaft inclined at a gradient of 45- when he slipped and fell a distance of 56 fathoms to the bottom and was killed. He should have obtained the carriage when he could have crossed the shaft in safety. [From Inspector of Mines Report for 1932]
