Deceased was engaged enlarging a jig road in the Great Row seam. He and his mate had tried to pull a heavy stone from the roof, but failed. Having set a post under it, they used a crowbar in a break to lever down the next stone behind it, when the whole collapsed, reeling out the newly set post, and the large stone struck deceased against the side of the pack wall, killing him instantly.
