Whilst deceased was clearing away some loose dirt at the side of a main haulage road a large fall of roof occurred and killed him instantly. The fall, which came away from a strong roof and parting, displaced a girder. There were no slips visible previous to the accident and the place had been examined by the under-manager and a deputy.
