- Fall in roadway on landing plate in front of crab, whilst about to wind up empty tub. From between a slip and a weight break. A bar had been set diagonally across the landing under one and a good prop, the other end rested on a piece of split prop 11 inches long and this half prop stood on the end piece of a portion of a chock. Thus the bar could readily swerve when weight came on it. This happened, the bar was found after the fall square across the landing, when the bar gave way, roof fell on the back of deceased whilst in a stooping position. It was a wretched piece of timbering and should have been seen by the examining officials during the fortnight it was up. (Average roof).
