Deceased and another were redding a fall of soft dirt in a narrow air-course formed alongside a fault. While doing so some soft dirt fell from the side and fastened deceased’s legs. His mate tried to release him but fearing that some more of the soft roof was about to fall deceased laid hold of a post to haul himself out. Unfortunately the post had worked loose and he pulled it out, letting down a quantity of the roof dust upon himself. The fall extinguished their lights and his mate had to go for assistance in the dark. Deceased was extricated in about an hour He had apparently been suffocated.
