- Details of Event
- Deceased and another man were engaged in renewing timber on an engine plane road. They had put up a new balk and supported it by a centre prop. Whilst Gascoyne was in a stooping position clearing away rubbish with his hands preparatory to setting an end prop, a side waver of stone fell and caught him. The stone came away from the corner of a refuge hole, and he was said to have examined it himself and considered it safe.
