- Details of Event
- He was driving a train of empty tubs up a gradient of about 1 in 45 and at the time about 300 yards further in, there were thirteen full tubs standing at a stop block without any lockers in when three tubs were by some means forced over the stop block and ran down the incline. The deceased had evidently tried to get into a place of safety and had been caught by the first tub as he was rushing across the road. It is not quite clear what caused the tub to get amain but it is probable one of the trammers had let a full tub run into the back of the tubs with considerable force and thus caused the tubs in front to move forward and the first tub to mount the stop block.
