- Details of Event
- In Williams’ (sinking) shaft he was struck on the head by a piece of brick, which fell about 100ft from above the curb of the last length of walling, where it was dislodged by blasting. It was disturbed by the bell wire which he was using at the time. The chargeman in the previous shift had examined the shaft after blasting, and dislodged some pieces of brick but he considered loose or dangerous.
