Men were working to lift weights off the wire rope conductors and Gallahar was finding the holes to put the eyebolts through to hang the pulley blocks on. Men were working at the pit top preparing to lift the conductors. The cages had been given up to the men at the top. They had the top cage moved up slowly which lowered the bottom cage down upon Gallahar who should not have been under the shaft at all.
