- Details of Event
- He and his comrade had raised a block of waste stone (gob), 6 feet 4 inches by 4 feet by 6 inches, on to a pile of blocks about 4.5 feet high, and as they were working it forward with bars, and rollers underneath, to get it back into the gob or waste, he stepped a little way back and falling over the edge of the block, alighted with his back on the crane handle and toppled over on to his head, fracturing the base of the skull. The height he fell from was only 4.5 feet.
