5 May 1919: Uddingston – Colliery Accident – Shortly after 8 o'clock on Tuesday evening a fall took place in the Virtuewell seam of Messrs Addie & Sons Viewpark Colliery when Frederic Gaeters, residing at Muirpark Rows, was seriously injured about the head and shoulders and removed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. His two sons, who were working with him at the time, were also slightly injured, but were able to go home.
