Details of Event
The deceased and six others were removing over-burden which was 9ft. 8ins. in depth. A length of 33ft. had been nicked at the ends and holed to a depth of about 2ft., four ribs, 1ft. 6ins. broad, being left in to support the face. The face fell suddenly along its whole length without giving any warning. Kindon was wholly buried and killed on the spot; Feller, who was partially buried, was got out in half an hour, and died on the same afternoon. 2 killed.
