A block of granite detached from the face was being divided by wedges, the block was 4 feet 9 inches high, 4 feet 4 inches by 4 feet 3 inches, a piece 16 inches across was being wedged, after wedging for some time deceased was placing wood against the rock face to prevent the slab being damaged by falling against the rock, whilst so doing the slab fell over, crushing him against the rock. The wood ought to have been placed before commencing to wedge off, obviously it was on the point of falling when he went before it.
