Crushed by fall of tension weights connected with haulage ropes. For alterations the weights had been lifted by drawing up the ropes and securing them by clips and chains to poets at side of road. One of these posts was drawn out by the strain causing the weights (about 3 tons) to drop while Fox was in the tension pit.
