- Details of Event
- He was hewing in a seam only 1 foot 9 inches thick, and had turned away a narrow working 5 feet wide out of a narrow bord with the intention of widening out the bord. While so engaged he was caught by a more or less circular stone, 3 to 4 feet in diameter, with a maximum thickness of 9 inches, which fell from the roof. Probably his death was due to suffocation, the weight of the stone preventing him breathing.
