- Details of Event
- Died April 30. Deceased was engaged kirving in a whole place 6 yards wide in the Busty seam which here has a stone band in the centre. He had kirved about 4 feet across the middle of the place in the bottom coal when a portion of the band fell upon him. The deputy had been in the place two hours before the accident. The Local Inspectors reported, 'it is our true opinion that it was a pure accident.'.
