- 9 February 1926: Dysart Pit Fatality - A fatal accident occurred at the Frances Pit, Dysart , early yesterday morning, the victim being James Forsyth, 40 years of age, an oncost -worker, who resided at 97 Sutherland Street, Kirkcaldy. It appears that while Forsyth was at work the lower Dysart section of the pit at the coal face there was a fall of coal from the roof, and he was buried. Before he could be extricated he had succumbed, death being due to asphyxiation. The deceased is survived by a widow and one child. [Scotsman 10 February 1926]
