These boys were caught by a revolving shaft at the screens on the surface. The shaft was not boxed in, though there was a fence some distance back. It is supposed that Hill was inspecting the shaft in consequence of its heating, when his clothes were caught by a small stud on the shaft, and he either grasped Fogg or Fogg tried to lose him and was dragged in. 2 killed.
