8 November 1928: Hill of Beath Youth Electrocuted – Intended Emigrating To America – George Flockhart, 17, son of Mr George Flockhart, The Square, Hill of Beath, was electrocuted on Thursday while at work at a redd bing. The lad was working below an electric wire, which becoming loose from its fastenings, fell on him causing instant death. The unfortunate lad had all his preparations made to join his brother in America, and intended sailing next Friday. [Dunfermline Journal 10 November 1928]
