6 June 1919: Uddingston – Colliery Accident – On Friday evening last week, Mr John Baillie, miner, residing at 84 Main Street, Uddingston, was injured while at work in Messrs Robert Addie & Sons, Viewpark Colliery and was taken home. Later, however, it was found his injuries were more serious than at first anticipated and he was conveyed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, in the ambulance waggon.
