- Details of Event
- He was found lying on the driving road, between the second and third tubs of his set of four, the first two tubs being off the way. The pony was found further inbye. The cotter to keep the pin of the limbers in the yoke hole of the tub could not be found. Probably the boy forgot to take it to work that morning, and this omission cost him his life. The pin had come out of the yoke hole and the boy dropped off the limbers in front of the set. His skull was fractured, and he died the same day at the Royal Infirmary, Sunderland.
