- Details of Event
- Pushing an empty tub on the level in the shunt near downbrow when a stone 2 feet square, 6.5 inches thick on one side, dropped without warning from the roof. Caught him on the back of the head and crushed it against the top edge of the near end of the tub. Although several times examined by official passing along the level, no sign of danger had been detected. I found evidence of settling of the roof; it had been wise to have timbered the slant under the conditions. Died 26th.
