- Details of Event
- When only 3 feet past a standard of an aerial flight, a full bucket got off the rope on which it ran, but hung on a bolt. Deceased and another man went to the top of the standard, 47 feet high, to tip the bucket. In case it should fall away a pair of blocks were hung from a 6-inch diameter derrick of Norway timber mounted on top of the standard, and a hold got of the bucket. The bucket fell away when the blocks were tightened, and the derrick broke. Unfortunately deceased had lashed himself to the pole, and was carried to the ground. The tackle used was not suitable for the work.
