Deceased was pulling an empty tub across the plates at the shaft bottom when some loaded tubs, which had not got free from a haulage clip in time, pushed forward other loaded tubs against him and knocked him under the descending cage. If deceased had kept the shaft bottom gate closed till the proper time to open it the accident would not have occurred.
