- Deceased was jumping from the surface down to a ledge 8 feet wide, from which the overburden had been removed to a depth of 3 feet The leg of his trousers caught on the top of a rammer, which had been left standing against the face of the overburden, and he was tripped and fell on the ledge, whence he fell to the quarry floor, a distance of about 25 feet He was severely cut and bruised. Pneumonia and pleurisy supervened and he died on 29th August.
