Burned by an explosion of gas which had accumulated in a hole on the double parting. The parting had been full of water but was drained to a depth of three feet the previous night. The fireman said he had examined the hole that morning but found no gas. Deceased's partner went in soon after to see how much roof had fallen, and ignited some gas with his naked light. No.3 Rhondda seam.
