Deceased was filling and loading into wagons a mass of soil and blue clay which had slipped from the face of the quarry last winter. They had cut forward into the clay forming a face 5 feet 9 inches in height, when about a ton of clay fell from the top of this face without warning and knocked him down, and a piece of the clay, estimated to weigh about 2 cwts fell upon his chest. He died in the County Hospital six days later from pneumonia resulting from the accident.
