Deceased was engaged holing at a depth of 5ft when the coal dropped and killed him instantly. Two coeder sprags and two short sprags, set 14 days prior to the accident on a hard floor which had subsequently become soft owing to percolation of water were reeled out and a pressure break from which the coal fell was exposed. Apparently sufficient care had not been exercised in testing the stability of the sprags.
