He withdrew a sprag from under some holed coal in the ordinary way, and when a large piece fell a few smaller pieces of end and rolled some distance. Two of these pieces caught him against a prop supporting a bar. He sustained a scalp wound and at the shoulders, and complained of pain about his ribs. Died on February 4th from pneumonia.
