He had been replacing some empty tubs on to the rails on the endless rope haulage road in a drift with an inclination against the load of 1 in 9. When signalled away the rope started with a jerk and three full tubs got loose from the clip, over rode the drag and ran back. Deceased probably thought they were empties coming back and was crushed between them and the side as they passed him.
