- Details of Event
- Died 09-07-1950. There was a fall of stone from the roof and Mr Attwood Jumped back to avoid it and in so doing hit his head against a post. He was grazed by the stone. He took a day off work but that was all and after the weekend did not complain of his head. On Sunday the 9th July he collapsed and the doctor was called. He died later that afternoon and the Coroner's inquest recorded a verdict that death was caused by an inter-cranial haemorrhage consequent upon a blow to his head sustained in the course of his employment underground as a colliery deputy. He was survived by a widow and two children.
