They were being lowered in a kibble to ascertain the level of the water. A pulsometer pump was drowned and when the steam was turned on to it the joint next to the pump was blown and the steam escaping into the water made it boiling hot. These men owing to the signal to stop not being heard were lowered into this water and severely scalded. Thomas died on the 16th and Dunn on the 18th inst.
