- 13 February 1937: MINER DIES FROM INJURIES - Pinned Down by Large Stone - William Duffy, a 53-year-old miner, residing at Hillhead, Kirkintilloch, died this morning from injuries received last night when he was pinned down by a large stone which fell on his chest in Messrs James Nimmo & Co.'s Wester Auchengeich Colliery, North-West Lanarkshire.
