- 30 August 1922: Uddingston – Another Colliery Accident – On Wednesday morning as Charles Dudley, residing at Watson Parade, Tollcross, was engaged at a coal cutting machine in the Blantyre Ferme Colliery, Uddingston, his foot was caught in the machinery and seriously mutilated. He was removed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Uddingston Ambulance Waggon. [Hamilton Advertiser 2 September 1922]
