- 2 June 1937: Dunfermline Pit Worker's Fatal Injuries - William Hugh Drysdale (53); pithead worker, 39 Main Street, Kingseat, Dunfermline, has died in the Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital from the effects of injuries received on Thursday of last week in an accident at Lochside Mine Townhill, belonging to the Lochside Coal and Fireclay Company (Ltd.). He was in the act of emptying a hutch containing blae when the hutch tipped over and went down a chute, carrying him with it, a distance of about twelve feet. [Scotsman 3 June 1937]
