Details of Event
He and another miner were engaged in drawing the timber from a disused road in a sandstone mine. They pulled down it large baulk of timber set as a bar, and a stone which it was supporting fell from the roof and sliding down the bar fatally injured Driver. A prop should have been set to support the stone whilst the bar was being removed.
