Deceased and another man had charged the cracks in a limestone quarry face with 400lbs. of grain gunpowder which was fired by gunpowder fuse ignited by a gelignite cartridge. When the fuse was lighted deceased threw the flaming gelignite down and falling down an open fissure in the stone it ignited the whole of the charge. Deceased fell with the stone broken away by the explosion.
