He had examined the stall and was passing the gate end for the second time to go down the gate when a large piece of rock from the roof suddenly fell down and killed him. The gate ripping had been continued up to the face and there disclosed a slip and a well-defined roof ran parallel to the face and the roof had slightly broken down on the face on one side of the gate. Under such circumstances the stone should have been taken down.
