- Details of Event
- Deceased was walking alongside a journey of four loads which were being drawn by a pony along a level 8ft. wide and 5ft 6in high. The rails were laid so that the waggons had a clearance of about 3 ins. between them and the timber uprights which supported bars. The third load of the journey jumped the rails, and knocked out a leg at the deep side which caused a fall of roof, and deceased was buried under a heap of debris. He was not seriously injured and death was due to suffocation from want of air and impaired respiration caused by the weight of debris resting on his body.
