- 13 May 1935: Stirling Miner Killed - A Cambusbarron miner lost his life a few minutes before the end of the shift at Millhall [Polmaise] Colliery, Stirling, yesterday morning. He was John Douglas, aged about 50 who resided at 13 Hayford Square. While at work in No.1 Pit, Douglas was trapped by a fall of stone from the roof. He died shortly after being taken to the surface.
